日本一本道a不卡免费“As a parent of a busy 12 year old, I am thrilled that Alumni Weekend is in June when school is out and activities take a pause!” said Amanda Nolen Seals, ’94. “I cannot believe it has been 25 years since I left YHC. My two years in the Enchanted Valley gave me not only an educational foundation, but lifelong friendships. I look forward to seeing many of my classmates and reminiscing about our days at YHC.”
To register for Alumni Weekend events and order your Alumni Weekend T-shirt, please visit the online registration form.
This year, you can reminisce about your time at YHC by staying on campus! Rooms in Appleby Center and The Village are available for rent, or you can purchase a space for your RV or camper in the upper lot behind Appleby Center or the lot at the Art Annex. Note that registration for on-campus accommodations is separate from Alumni Weekend event registration. To learn more and book your stay, visit the Accommodations Registration page.
During Alumni Weekend, three of your fellow alumni will be recognized at the Alumni Awards Ceremony, including Matthew Kammerer, ’11, Jan Keith, ’69, and Richard Burrell, ’47. The opportunity to RSVP is available in the Alumni Weekend online registration form.

Tee It Up at the Clay Dotson Open Golf Tournament
You are invited to join us for the 15th annual Clay Dotson Open on Monday, May 13 at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Georgia. The morning flight begins at 6:45 a.m. and the afternoon flight begins at 1:30 p.m. This highly anticipated golf tournament is Young Harris College’s premier fundraising event for student scholarships. By participating in this tournament as a player, sponsor or donor, you ensure deserving students receive the financial support they need to excel at YHC.
日本一本道a不卡免费This event is the perfect opportunity to have fun while supporting a great cause. You’ll play one of Georgia’s top courses in one of the state’s most beautiful locations. Our morning and afternoon flights are limited to 112 players each, so register today. Teams with three or more alumni will qualify for the Tom Forkner, Sr. Alumni Challenge and a special discounted rate ($150 per alumnus/alumna player). In the spirit of competition, we’ll award prizes for the low net score in each flight, and we’ll also offer a putting contest with prizes.
“To keep the tournament viable, more young golfers are needed,” said Dr. Clay Dotson, who served YHC as a history professor, academic dean and interim president. Dr. Dotson also noted that non-golfers and those unable to participate this year can still contribute. “You need not play in the tournament to be an important supporter. Contributions can be made to YHC with a designation for the golf tournament. All support is appreciated.”
Sponsorships, player registrations, mulligans and more are available for purchase at le-mistere.com/claydotsonopen. For room reservations, contact Brasstown Valley Resort at (800) 201-3205. We hope to see you at this year’s tournament!
? This year, YHC’s Board of Trustees will match up to $250,000 for new gifts or gift increases made by June 1, 2019.
This is a great opportunity for new participants to make a first gift go further—and those who gave last year can take advantage of the match by increasing their contribution this year. All gifts raise a class’s total giving amount while, most importantly, increasing the amount of scholarships offered to deserving YHC students.
日本一本道a不卡免费Many of you were able to attend YHC because someone cared enough to provide you with financial assistance. Now, alumni have the chance to pay it forward—while also engaging in a friendly competition that promotes unity and spirit within each class.
The , which is organized by Class Coordinators, encourages each class to raise $1,000 or more each year for scholarships that are awarded each fall to current and incoming YHC students. There is power in numbers: if 100 members of a class give just $10, the class will reach its goal!
Contribute to YHC’s New Band Building
日本一本道a不卡免费On Tuesday, Feb. 12, YHC broke ground on a new band building. The facility will be constructed behind the campus’s Fine Arts Annex, which is across the street from Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church. The lead financial gift for the new building was provided by YHC Trustee Pam Rollins.
日本一本道a不卡免费“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to support the band program with this new state-of-the-art practice facility that will allow the program and its students to grow well beyond their current success,” said Rollins. “I look forward to seeing the impact this facility will make on the program and the College as a whole.”
The need for a new band facility was determined last April. Practices are currently held in the Fine Arts Annex, but the tight space causes many issues, like sound traveling throughout the building into class lectures and studio classes. Additionally, the limited space means band students cannot house their instruments in the current facility.
YHC is raising funds to support acoustical elements inside the new band building. If you’re interested in making a donation to support the new band facility, please visit le-mistere.com/giving/online-giving and select “Band Practice Facility” within the designation box.
Calling All SPAT Alums: Support the SPAT Swing Project
The SPAT Club is actively working to replace swings on the YHC campus, as well as to raise money for student scholarships. The club’s goal is to raise $30,000 for these efforts. The first swing will be dedicated to Zell and Shirley Miller during Alumni Weekend (see the Alumni Weekend schedule of events for more details). A donation of $10,000 will provide you the opportunity to designate the next plaque and swing in honor of a fellow SPAT or YHC alumnus, alumna or affiliate. Contributions of any size are appreciated and will go toward the purchase of additional swings and student scholarships.
To support the SPAT Swing Project, please visit le-mistere.com/giving/online-giving日本一本道a不卡免费 and select “Other” within the designation box. Then, specify “SPAT Swing Project” in the provided space.
In the Spring 2019 edition of Echoes, you can explore the path that led President Van Horn to YHC, celebrate the life of the late Zell B. Miller, ’51, and read about the students, friends and alumni—like you—who make YHC so special.
As a YHC alum, you will soon receive an email, postcard and/or phone call from Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI) asking for your personal information. This is a legitimate Young Harris College project. YHC is partnering with PCI to produce a new alumni directory, and we hope you will participate. The new directory will allow YHC to receive important updates to our alumni database so we can better serve all alumni.
